An efficient healthcare system in the world needs to establish a harmonized environment between health care professionals; among which pharmacists play an essential and a leading role. Career of pharmacy as a profession nowadays includes modern clinical services related to health care, such as designing a management treatment plan, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information.

Alfaisal University invested in medical, science, engineering, business, pharmacy and law education. Alfaisal followed a tradition of excellence in the education and practice in all of its well-established colleges. Now it started its investment in pharmacy education in the new College of Pharmacy. The Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) Program provided, is a six years program that was established with strong foundation of basic sciences. Based on which different disciplines related to pharmaceutical sciences, research, and pharmacy practice integrate.

The sixth year will focus on Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotations giving the graduate an excellent opportunity to explore his/her future interest. The college of Pharmacy and its developing leaders are keen to recruit members that are recognized nationally and internationally for their pharmacy education, and innovative research, that is practiced as a lifestyle with faculty, staff, and students being engaged. The college has also established a pharmacy students association (PSA) that has successfully exceled in community service as part of the students’ academic/non-academic activities. Through its international institutional affiliation and collaboration with Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (MCPHS), and Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS) in the UK, college of pharmacy will continue to develop its curriculum periodically to keep up with the rapidly evolving profession of pharmacy, design the latest educational events, and arrange students/faculty summer programs.

Our college strategic plan is focused on increasing gifted students’ recruitment, attracting outstanding faculty, expanding on pharmacy education via new programs or future graduate studies, advancing health sciences research and to strengthen outreach regionally.
