The College of Pharmacy Mentorship Program initiative is designed to create a supportive learning environment, connecting experienced mentors with aspiring pharmacy students. This program aims to provide guidance, share insights, and build a strong sense of community within the college. Through mentor-mentee meetings, we seek to enhance academic and professional growth, preparing our students for successful futures in the dynamic field of pharmacy.

The services of mentorship have a broad scope of items including:

1. Academic Support

  • Academic Advising and Counseling.
  • Self-development.
  • Academic performance evaluation.

2. Non-academic support:

  • Career Guidance.
  • Skills development.
  • Talks and Workshops.

The College established its mentorship program, with all full-time faculty serving as mentors. Under this initiative, every College of Pharmacy student is assigned a mentor at the start of the fall semester of each academic year. Each student must have a minimum of two meetings per semester, with one meeting scheduled before midterm exams and another before final exams. Details of these meetings are documented by each mentor using the prescribed Mentor-Mentee Report form. All reports are received and reviewed by the Head of the Mentorship Program, and further discussions may be held if pressing issues arise. Students are welcome to schedule additional meetings as needed and agreed upon by the mentor, whether on campus or virtually.

Using an online survey, all students are required to provide comments and feedback on the input provided by their mentors and the quality of the interaction they had with them. Furthermore, every semester, all mentors are required to complete and submit a detailed follow-up form anytime any of their mentees' performance deteriorates.
